The 62 bird species included in this Audio Guide are those you are most likely to encounter regularly throughout New England. The common vocalizations for most of these species are relatively easy to recognize; learning these vocalizations will train your ear and make it easier for you to distinguish the vocalizations of less common or more challenging bird species.

This Audio Guide will teach you how to identify each species by its most easily recognized sounds. You will learn the habitat, and where within the habitat, you are most likely to encounter each species.

When you complete your order you will receive an email that includes a link to download the Audio Guide.

As soon as you complete your order you will also see a "Download Now" button.

Click the "Download Now" button and a Zip file with the complete Audio Guide will begin downloading onto your computer.

You can usually watch the progress of the download in the upper right corner of your browser. When the download is complete, click on the "Show in Folder" tab near where you watched the file download on your screen. Or, go to the "Downloads" folder on your computer. This is usually in your "C" drive:

C: > Users > "yourname"> Downloads

or in your computer's search bar type "downloads" to find your downloads folder.

Click once on the file and then click "Extract All"

Select a destination folder for your files then click "Extract".

You can now access and use all of the files you purchased!

How do I get the files I am purchasing? (on your phone)

Look for the downloaded Zip file wherever you phone stores downloaded files.

On the iPhone, downloaded files go into a "Downloads" folder within the "Files" folder.

Find the downloaded Audio Guide zip file. Press and hold the file until you see a pop up with the option to "uncompress". Click "uncompress" and all parts of the Audio Guide will open into the Audio Guide file.

How do I listen to the Audio Guide files I purchased?

The Audio Guide files are mp3 audio files that you can listen to in any media player that plays mp3s. These include iTunes, Apple Music, Windows Media Player, VLC, etc.

Parts 1, 2 & 3 of the Audio Guide have separate album names and the tracks within each album are labeled:

  • "Lesson" (Part 1)
  • "Review" (Part 2)
  • "Quiz" (Part 3)

to facilitate your ability to identify which tracks belong to each part of the Audio Guide.
